Dear Parents and Players,
Try-outs for NMSC will take place
on June 15th, 16th and 17th. NMSC has 27 boys
and girls teams representing most age groups and competitive
levels. Click on
the “try-out ad” below for dates, times and
location.
The open tryout process used by
most competitive soccer clubs is often a confusing
and trying process for both the parents and the players
that elect to participate. With
that in mind, we feel obligated to communicate to you
some facts regarding our tryout process. While
the actual process has variations depending on the age
of the participant, there are many generalizations that
can be made. For a more detailed description, ask
one of our Board Members or Coaches for a copy of our
Club Policies.
- The open tryout for each age group will be conducted
by a Tryout Supervisor(s). The
Tryout Supervisor(s) will be designated by the NMSC
Director of coaching prior to the tryout and can either
be a designated NMSC trainer or an approved NMSC Coach
or a combination thereof. The purpose of this
approach is to have an objective person or persons
on the field during tryouts to evaluate player’s
abilities and to consult with existing coaches to aid
in the decision making process.
- Each age group will have a combined open tryout
and all players planning to play in the upcoming seasons
should attend all tryout sessions. No players,
including the sons or daughters of existing Coaches,
will be guaranteed a spot on any team.
- The teams will be formed from
those players attending the tryout who demonstrate
the necessary skills and potential to compete in
league play, as determined by the Tryout Supervisor(s). The
number of teams to be formed will be dependent on
the number of qualified players available.
We would like to thank all of
the coaches and parents who have provided input in
the past about our tryout process. We sincerely
hope the format provides the foundation for a strong
and prosperous Club.
